A fast, fair way to pick a name

NameDrawWheel is a free spinning wheel that picks a random name from any list you type in. Paste a class list, a group of friends, raffle entries or ideas, press Spin, and the wheel lands on a winner. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

Because the winner is chosen by your browser's secure random number generator, every name has exactly the same chance. That makes the wheel a simple way to settle decisions fairly and in a way everyone can watch happen on screen.

Popular ways people use the name picker

Teachers use the wheel to choose who answers the next question, who presents first or who gets a classroom job. Putting the wheel on a projector in full-screen mode turns a routine choice into a moment the whole class enjoys.

Streamers and social media hosts use it to draw giveaway winners live, because viewers can see the spin happen. Offices use it to decide the order of stand-up meetings or who brings snacks on Friday. Families use it to pick who chooses the movie or who does the dishes.

You can also use it for things that are not names at all: restaurant choices, workout exercises, book titles, game rules or dares. Anything you can type on a line can go on the wheel.

Tips for the best results

Put one entry on each line. To give an entry a bigger chance, add it more than once. After a winner is picked, use "Remove winner" if you want to draw again without repeating the same name, which is perfect for picking a full order or several prize winners.

Use the Share button to create a link with your list built in, so a co-teacher, moderator or friend can open the exact same wheel.

Frequently asked questions

Is the result really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser's built-in cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) before the wheel starts turning. Every entry has exactly the same chance, and the spin animation simply shows that result.

How many names can I add to the wheel?

You can add up to 1,000 entries. With very long lists the text on each slice gets smaller, and when slices become too thin the labels are hidden, but the draw stays just as fair.

Can I pick more than one winner?

Yes. After each spin, click "Remove winner" and spin again. Repeat until you have as many winners as you need. The Results tab keeps a list of every winner from your session.

Are my entries saved or shared with anyone?

Your entries are saved only in your own browser so they are still there next time. They are not uploaded to our servers. If you use the Share button, the entries are placed inside the link itself, so only people you send the link to can see them.

Does the wheel work on phones and tablets?

Yes. The wheel works in any modern browser on phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers. Tap the wheel or the Spin button to spin.

Is NameDrawWheel free?

Yes, the wheel is completely free to use with no sign-up required.
